Ear Coning

A Safe and Alternative Method for Promoting Ear Health

Ear Coning (also known as Ear Candling) dates back for centuries, to the ancient Egyptian, Chinese, Tibetan, Aztec, Mayan and American Indian cultures. Thought to have originated with the Egyptians, it was used for spiritual cleansing as well as physical cleansing.  Ear coning is a safe, non-invasive and relaxing home remedy used to assist the body's natural process to gently remove impacted ear wax and other debris.

Because more people are seeking less intrusive ways of healing, ear coning is making resurgence as an alternative technique. Today, there are numerous medical doctors, naturopaths, chiropractors and other health care providers who practice ear coning.

It works by gently placing a cone shaped candle in the ear canal and the top end of the cone is ignited. The cone is typically made up of cotton dipped in beeswax and is hollow on the inside. When the cone is ignited, it creates warmth and an upward vacuum that will draw wax, fungus, candida, yeast and other substances from the ear canal into the lower portion of the candle.

Our clients describe the ear coning sessions as both pleasant and relaxing.  They also report experiencing the following from one or more sessions of ear coning:
  • Sinus pressure and allergy relief
  • Relief from wax buildup
  • Earache and Swimmer's ear relief
  • Stimulated energy/acupressure points in the ears
  • Help with equilibrium and vertigo
  • Some hearing impairment restoration
  • State of relaxation
  • Stimulation of the lymph system
  • Headache and migraine relief
  • Tinnitus relief
